Union Station Jersey Barriers

Union Station placed barriers in front of all entrances to enforce the safety of commuters. The purpose of this project was to elevate TD’s presence at the station beyond the amenities and banking facilities, beautify the barriers, and use it as a platform for artistic expression.

The design idea was to use simple shapes to spell out words representing Toronto, for example, T.O, 6ix, and YYZ. Some shapes act like a window to showcase artwork, graphics, pictures and patterns, which represent the diversity of art in the Toronto area. And when various pieces were put together, a mosaic piece of art was displayed.
